Winds of change

The hands of time go 'round and round

They don't slow when you lose your way

at every turn the things you learn

you wear them proud like you wear your name

and as you go on down that road

don't let the dust get in your eyes

it blows in the winds of change

This is a song portion by Rus Taff.

Whats up buddy

Am kinda glad that i live today and not in the times Jesus.Thats a contentious statement of course.

Today in the staff fellowship we studied John the baptist. His mum and Mary were pregnant at the same time.Thats a poiter that maybe they grew up in the same click of buddies.I try to figure that Jesus being a boyhood friend and a cousin it must have been so hard for John to conceptualize the position of the master.

He says an amazing thing in Mat 1 am not worthy to untie the thongs of his shoe.Who my cousin!i really sympathise with his position to understand his mission.

John did not have the coolest ride in town,in fact he stayed in the forest in a skin and ate locust and honey.Yet Jesus said he was the biggest. What a statement. But i ask he died young at the helm of his ministry his disciples probably followed Jesus and he was in prison and beheaded worse it is not recorded Jesus going to see him in prison. But their  is something sweet about fulfilling God's purpose.Sometimes it may not be so clear a bit confusing like this guy when he sents his disciples to go ask Jesus if he was the one who was to come..read mat 11.

The standards of success are challenged a lot. There are many heros of christianity who are unsung who have sacrificed quite a lot for the faith but the media have no space for them.Praise God that Jesus said John was the greatest ,it is sad the media decides what successful min is but God has different stds.

May God be with you. Have fun and thanks for reading this blog.I would love to hear yor comments and reflections!

Henri Nouwen

Success, popularity and power can indeed present a great temptation, but their seductive quality often comes from the way they are part of a much larger temptation of self rejection. We have come to believe in the voices that call us worthless and unlovable, then success, popularity and power are easily perceived as as attractive solutions ...self rejection is the greatest enemy of the spiritual life because it contradicts the sacred voice that calls us the beloved.Being beloved constitutes the core truth of our existence.

Our being is not constitued in what people say or think  or what we feel. But rather what we know as the factual truth. The movies have exalted feelings above all things and tampered with our capacity to believe the spiritual facts...The lord of the rings, the immortal Elf gives up immortality for the love of Aragorn while in the city of angels,Nicholas cage makes the switch from angel to human..aasked if it was worth it he answers i would rather have had..one kiss of her lips, one touch of her hand, than an eternity without it.

The underlying statement is that one can give up all for a feeling which later dictates who is who.It is a higher calling to end like Paul saying i have fought a good fight,i have finished my course,i have kept the faith. His circumstances did not seem so cool but men thats a powerful ending statement.

good day

Check this out

This nature thing is so amazing!

The weather is quite bad.Think about windy and cold climate. With heaters ever on the maximum i almost always have to go out to check and then make a decision on what i wear.Obvious i make a few wrong decisions.Like today my jeans is hanging in the office to dry.Thank God we have multiple trousers, please do not judge me if you were hear maybe you will wear 4 trousers!

The implications of such weather is that you have to stay inside. In Norway you miss quite a lot because the nature is so good.Am an outside sort of a guy.I guess i can see God a lot more in nature.Thats is my pathway. Its so cool. You won't believe this but i just can't stay inside all day so i still had a run in the rain to the mountains i thought it was strange but i still met Norwegians on the way with their dogs, some too big.

This is so unique that the nature here is respected .Its so important for the people here to take a walk in nature and to have some fresh air.

Norwegian Pizza

Pizza is the universal dish. Its not so common where i come from. The common student meal was called Stage yote(means a little bit of everything costed about 0.4£).Pizza is quite expensive and thus not popular. But in Norway things are different. My team isaac and i were invited to a pizza treat yesterday by one of our teachers at Hald. They are so kind and free with us.Hola Teachers fra Hald.It  was fantastic pizza ,its slowly becoming a favourite dish with ,lots of cheese and ham.

OOh after the treat we landed into a meeting and the preacher said something like..We are so damn cheap i have no clue why God decides to accomplish his mission of saving the world through us.It reminds me of these words from bill Hybels book courageous leadership.

.Prone to wander, lord i feel it....

prone to leave the God i love

i need the daily discipline reading scripture of writing out my prayers in long hand to stay focussed.

The daily discipline of solitude so i can listen to God even though demands of my day screams like wounded animals.

Discipline to bee accountable to people who have the capacity of telling me hard words.

A close humble walk with christ never fails.it strengthens the heart, redirects the will, restrains the ego,and ourifies the motives. In returning and rest shall you be saved:In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.Isaiah 30:15.

The father heart of God

God is such a father.I have listened to countless stories of my friends who are not able to relate to God as so because of some bad experiences with the fathers.I want to add one more complication mothers also add up to the scene.A friend of mine who the mom always failed in her promise to bring candies home, faces it hard to trust Gods promise. As kids we always know that God is an adult at least i did.We trusted God for Chapati (shallow fried toteeers)when we were kids.Thank God he treated us like kids when we were kids!!

I always know that it is never too late to have a good childhood. When am here in Norway i like the closeness kids have with the parents,The parents have well arranged schedules for being home and so much outdoors activities.I always fancy that.God wants us close and the good thing is that he has time.In many parts of the world the parentrs want to spend time but they also must earn enough money for them to go to school.Let stake advantage of our dadddy in heaven who have so much time for us.Am a maths teacher and my greatest moments as a kid was when i brought such a sum that my dad and i can not solve! lets try God and see how he performs.

I met this man in my small group and i told him that he has really inspired me.He writes week to all his kids for such a long time now he has lost count.Men those are  tough standards but we are happy to  have a Father who has written so explicitly to us lets love him.And those who are aspiring to be fathers men its a bigtime calling to do it Gods way i think!
