Poverty is a big topic,We talk about it all the time.Today in class we had a shock of life.The teacher took some stats on what we the students think about Africa thro stats.This is what we got.

That 50% of Africans probably are infected by Hiv and Aids.

20% of Latin America and Africans go to school.

40% live in extreme poverty.That was a bit shocking to see how the media potrays Africa in the west.It affects peoples view points and causes prejudices as the westeners relate with the southerners.If you get stats right it is about 80% of kids who go to school.

As christians we may want to reverse this trend and talk and portray a good pic of our part of the world.Things maybe bad but not as much.Thank God for the millenium Development Goals.The poverty in the west may not appear so bad but it is equally bad.lets see.

All christians in the world have a big mission to know Jesus and to make him know both in their neighbourhood and aslo far and wide.we are all called to join in prayer for the whole church of christ despite the location in the world,we are one body in christ.Sometimes when we are recruiting for prayer or fro support in many other things and are more prone to exaggerations and apinting the wrong pictures of what is on the ground.

One student in the UK as a missionary for one year was so disgusted by the report given about  his continent by a missionarry who ha sjust reported for more equipping.The stories of course moved the people so much to tears but the student couldnt help but see the misgivings,There are no lions evrywhere in Congo or something like that there are still very strong and admirable guys who are learned and love the lord so much.

I fall in a simi9lar trick if i do not watch out but may God help me to paint he right and most fair and representative picture of christianity here in Norway.I just met the general secretary of NKSS.He is a tall godly man (what a description) but i liked the guy.

He made a comment sometimes the question goes what on earth are we doing as church leaders  in a country where only 5%are good christians  although like 70% belong to some state church.These guys in the ministry are a clear minority and to do ministry is for real not the in thing to do clearly.It is actually crazy and it is very hard even to recruit like students to lead and stuff like that.

Hauge used the movie lord of the rings to illustrate how we should be motivate to go and claim that which rightfully belongs to us.We of course have no business dreaming about the past but we can hope to move on in a new global vision of taking and meeting christ where forces of either postmodernisation or poverty have pushed christ out of the way.Both are equally harmful and destructive forces that need to to be fought with our lives.

Am amazed that christ can entrust such an enormous task to mere mortals like us.What an honour.
